Dental implants are used when the reconstruction of a tooth is not possible and its extraction is necessary, or when one or more teeth are lost. At Condor Dent, we evaluate your case in a particular way to recommend whether or not it is convenient to undergo a dental implant procedure.
There are two types of dental implants on the market:
- Endosteal or osseointegrated dental implants. These are surgically implanted directly into the jawbone.
Once the surrounding tissue has healed, a second surgery is required to connect the post to the original implant.
Finally, the artificial teeth are placed on the abutments. The teeth will be individual, or they will be grouped in a bridge or fixed prosthesis.
Osseointegrated implants can be laminated, cylindrical or screw, but all use titanium, zirconium or porcelain pieces. The choice of material is made according to the location and shape of the tooth to be replaced to ensure that it integrates very well with the bone.
- Subperiosteal dental implants. These consist of a mount or frame that is placed on the jaw or maxillary bone just below the gums. As the gums heal, the frame becomes fixed in the jawbone.
The pillars fixed to the frame protrude through the gums. As with osseointegrated implants, artificial teeth are placed on these posts.
At Condor Dent we make the best analysis of each case, because each person is different and so are their oral conditions.
The cost of dental implants is something that usually worries those who should have this type of procedure.
Dental implant prices can vary depending on factors such as; the type of material used in the implant, the surgical technique to be performed, the type of professional who will perform the work, the operating room where the procedure will be performed.
The implant expert must evaluate the conditions of each patient, the budget available for the treatment and thus offer something adjusted to their finances but that is also functional and aesthetic.
At Condor Dent we also offer you a dental implant financing system called “Finance 4 patients” that will allow you to distribute the payment of your treatment in installments and without charging interest, and the best thing is that you start paying from the first month start of your treatment. You can request it without lines without paperwork and without limiting yourself to performing an implant due to lack of budget.
As with any medical procedure, there are risks.
- Implant rejection. This risk is minimal but could occur in some cases, causing the implant to move or fall out. If in the next two or three weeks after implantation there are no problems, it is very likely that there is no risk of rejection.
- Infection. This risk could occur more frequently, so we recommend that you use single-use or sterilized implements, in addition to prescription painkillers and antibiotics.
- Nerve injury. This risk could be due to using an implant of the wrong size, which causes pain, numbness of the teeth, lips, gums and cheeks. That is why the experience of the professional who will perform the dental implant procedure is very important.
Despite the risks mentioned, the dental implant can be very beneficial for the patient since it can prevent a bad bite, it can also prevent the adjacent teeth from moving, and of course… Give you back your smile!
